Modu Art Space is a specialized visual arts venue dedicated to supporting and showcasing artists with disabilities and their creative practices. Through special exhibitions, public programs, and venue rentals, we cultivate an environment where diverse arts practitioners — from artists with disabilities and curators — can connect and thrive. Furthermore, we aim to expand the horizons of disability art within contemporary art by exploring and experimenting with a wide spectrum of discourses and artistic forms.

Modu Art Space designs exhibitions with sensory diversity in mind, creating an environment where everyone can comfortably engage with art. By developing programs customized to various sensory modalities such as sight, sound, and touch and enhancing informational and physical accessibility, we provide a barrier-free artistic experience for both artists with disabilities and visitors.

Beyond its galleries, Modu Art Space provides community spaces where artists with disabilities can connect, engage, and collaborate. We also organize workshops, seminars, and visitor participation programs that connect artists with the public, fostering a space where diverse minds and bodies can come together.
Spaces & Facilities
Modu Art Space comprises both exhibition galleries and community areas. The exhibition zone features Gallery 1 and Gallery 2, presenting a diverse and evolving range of exhibitions. The community spaces include a seminar room, meeting rooms, and a lounge, hosting a variety of exhibition-related programs such as artist talks, workshops, and seminars. Together, these two distinct yet connected spaces naturally foster a continuous cycle of creating, exhibiting, and discussing new artwork.

Exhibitions
Modu Art Space supports artists with disabilities and their creative practices, organizing exhibitions and programs that showcase their artworks and activities. By creating exhibition environments that accommodate diverse sensory needs and programs with enhanced accessibility, we make art open and accessible to all, championing the sustainable growth of disability arts.

Venue Rentals
Modu Art Space offers accessible venue rentals for exhibitions featuring visual artists with disabilities, ensuring an inclusive environment for all. In addition to our galleries, we provide a seminar room dedicated to exhibition-related talks, workshops, and educational programs.

History
The Korea Disability Arts & Culture Center (KDAC) was established in March 2015 to support cultural and artistic activities for people with disabilities and operate an arts and culture institute for people with disabilities. In 2021, under the “Act on Supporting Artists with Disabilities,” KDAC was designated as the specialized institution for administering disability art affairs, operating a diverse range of support programs and policy development research.
KDAC’s initiatives empower the creative practices of artists with disabilities and disability arts organizations to help them achieve their full potential, while making culture and the arts more accessible for people with disabilities. As part of this commitment, KDAC opened “Modu Art Space” in 2024, a specialized exhibition venue dedicated to disability arts.
Modu Art Space’s exhibitions are curated to run in tandem with additional educational, experiential, and exchange programs, allowing Modu Art Space to function as a culture and arts platform where people with and without disabilities connect through art. Building on this foundation, we encourage artists with disabilities to pursue boundless experimentation, take on new challenges, and advance their unique artistic visions, helping disseminate the value of disability arts.
Moving forward, Modu Art Space will continue supporting the sustainable development of disability arts, enhance cultural accessibility, and stay true to its mission of being an art space open to everyone.
